It’s day 1 of our great adventure to South Korea and Japan, after weeks of enthusiastic planning, the journey starts off with our flight from Changi Airport to our first stop, Incheon International for our very first company visits in South Korea- Twinword Inc.
Taking the red eye out of Singapore, everyone was excited that we are finally getting around to visit the startups and KBS!

After the 7-hour long flight, we arrived at Incheon International and promptly get about to visit our very first startup, Twimword Inc at Smart Content Center (SCC) in Anyang city, about an hour and a half’s ride from the airport. Although everyone was a little worn out from the flight, spirits were high as we traveled to our destination with great anticipation with what our first startup visit had in store for us!

The first of our company visits kicks off with a presentation by Twinword Inc’s founder, followed by an introduction to SCC and another company, Lasso & Company Corp.

After the presentations, we were given a tour of the SCC’s laboratory, ETRI and Lasso & Company’s office, which gave us a preliminary insight on the starup culture in South Korea.

Then it was on to KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) to take a look at what goes on behind the scenes in South Korea’s booming entertainment industry. We were treated to backstage views of recording programs and other aspects of production such as props and live performance stages.

To round the day off, we headed to myeongdong for some dinner and shopping before wrapping up and heading back to the hotel to get prepare for the next day’s company visit to Ideabove!
